This was probably the best source of info for me I just looked at some free plans from various pages and adapted from there but the only two key bits were using a 6 foot compass (2x4 with a screw 6 foot from the end) to draw the transition and built it in 4 foot sections instead of 8 for additional strength. I figured after spending that much time building the frame and spending that much on timber I might as well make it as good as it can be. I used 6mm ARD ramp armour with 12mm painted ply underneath it so the surface alone cost nearly 2000 (although that's Australian prices so if your american you can probably safely half that). They provide speed, air, grindable ledges, and just look cool. Wasn't that difficult took me 4 weekends to complete but cost at least twice what I expected after getting talked into using a proper surface instead of masonite or ply. I have skated and helped make a lot of mini pipes the biggest place a lot of people screw up on as well as online plans etc. Ramps are the backbone of any backyard skate park. I just finished a 12 wide mini ramp (3 x 4 foot wide sections with 2 at 4 foot high and one at 3 foot either side).
